Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 7, 2026
This policy explains what Lower My IRMAA (https://lowermyirmaa.com), operated by Owusu LLC ("we", "us"), collects, why, and the choices you have. We built this Service to prepare one specific form, and we ask only for what that form needs.
What we collect
- Your answers for the appeal: the details you enter to prepare Form SSA-44, including your name, date of birth, address and phone number; your Social Security Number, because Form SSA-44 requires it; the life-changing event and its date; and the income figures (adjusted gross income and tax-exempt interest) used to work out your IRMAA. We use them only to check whether you can appeal, estimate the surcharge, and fill in your documents.
- Account details: your email address, so you can come back to your answers and download your documents.
- Billing details: payments are handled by Stripe. We receive the payment status, the card brand and last four digits, and your postal code, never your full card number.
- Usage and device data: pages viewed, buttons clicked, approximate location from your IP address, browser and device type, and how fast pages load, so we can keep the Service working and improve it. If you arrived from an ad, we keep the ad click identifier and campaign parameters to measure our advertising.
- Cookies: a sign-in cookie, a security (CSRF) cookie, an anonymous visitor identifier, a cookie that keeps your saved answers on this browser, and an ad-attribution cookie. We don't use third-party advertising or analytics cookies.
- How the site is used: we use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors use our pages (clicks, taps, scrolling and the pages viewed, recorded as session replays and heatmaps) so we can fix what is confusing. It runs without cookies. Clarity masks anything you type into form fields, and numbers and email addresses shown on a page, and we switch it off on the pages that ask for identification or account numbers. Microsoft processes this data for us under its privacy statement.
What we do not do
We are not the Social Security Administration, Medicare, the IRS or any government agency. We do not submit anything to Social Security for you, we do not contact Social Security on your behalf, and we will never ask for your my Social Security login or password. You review, sign and submit your own documents.
How we use it
To check whether you can appeal and estimate the surcharge, to prepare your Form SSA-44 and filing documents, to run your account, to take payment, to send the emails you ask for (sign-in links, your saved-answers link, your receipt), to keep the Service secure and prevent fraud, and to meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not use your answers to train AI models.
Your Social Security Number
Your SSN is used for one purpose: to fill in Form SSA-44, which cannot be filed without it. It is encrypted in transit, stored with access controls, and shown back to you on screen and in your cover letter masked to the last four digits. We never sell it, never use it for marketing, and never share it except with the hosting provider that stores your answers for you (below). You can have it deleted at any time by deleting your account or emailing us.
Service providers
We share data only with providers that help us run the Service, under contracts that limit their use of it: Google Cloud (hosting and storage), Stripe (payments), Cloudflare (network security and email delivery) and Microsoft (Clarity, how the site is used).
Where data is kept and for how long
Data is stored in the United States. Answers you save before buying stay on our server so you can return to finish, and once you buy we keep your appeal's answers while your account is open, so you can change them and download your documents again. You can delete your answers and your account at any time from the Account page, or email us to ask us to delete them. When you delete your account, we delete your answers — including your SSN — from the Service; billing records are kept as long as tax and accounting laws require, and backups expire within 90 days. Usage logs are kept for up to 24 months.
Your rights
You can view and change your answers at any time, and delete your account, from the Account page. Depending on where you live (for example under the California Consumer Privacy Act and similar state laws), you may also have the right to know what personal information we hold, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To make a request, email [email protected].
Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, signed sessions and limited staff access. No system is perfectly secure; tell us at [email protected] if you notice anything wrong.
Children
The Service is for people dealing with Medicare and is not directed to children.
Changes
We will post any change to this policy here and, if it is material, tell you by email before it takes effect.
